Aiken Counselors
Our job as school counselors is to provide students social, emotional, and academic support so they will be the best learners they can be. We provide guidance lessons to students from pre-kindergarten to 5th grade which will support the counseling program.
Topics for guidance lessons are:
Stress management
Anti-bullying
Character Education
Healthy Friendships
Drug, alcohol, and tobacco awareness
Goal setting and decision making
Career awareness
We also conduct small group counseling in these areas:
Social skills
Friendship skills
Divorce
Study skills
Academic success
Anger management
Grief
And others issues which may arise
We provide individual counseling for students for a short period of time on an as needed basis, and assist students in crisis situations.
Referrals to see the counselor may be made by the student, teacher, parent or administrators.
